It’s these little nagging details that start to chip away at the iPhone’s veneer, even Nokia’s that go for less than half of the iPhone’s price can meet these rather easy requirements. The iPhone does have a few redeeming factors, for those workaholics who have Microsoft exchange servers at their office the iPhone will happily receive your emails so you will never be out of contact; and for those who do not have to deal with the corporate world Gmail and Yahoolmail accounts are supported. Thanks to the 3G connection the iPhone web functionality really shines, Google Earth and Maps are built in, along with weather and stock market applications.
The best web app however is the YouTube application, with the 3G connection YouTube videos buffer extremely quickly and there is nothing like showing someone that funny YouTube clip that you saw instead of just telling them about it. The built-in WiFi means that you can use your home ADSL instead of the 3G connection. The iPhone’s multi-touch screen is a great interface and it makes using the phone an addictive experience, while the sounds make the screen seem as responsive as a normal keypad until you attempt an SMS. The iPhone OS is extremely user friendly and the layout makes accessing all the functions simple. Apple hasn’t included iTunes so you will need to download it to be able to move music and videos to the iPhone.
Although it lacks functions that most phones come with standard, there will always be a hushed tone when you pull it out your pocket in a crowded room – it really is that awe inspiring, even if it is just a fashion accessory.

Due to go on sale July the 11th the phone will be on offer in black with 8GB of memory or in black or white with 16GB of memory. Sources suggest that the new iPhone will be available in the UK from Apple, 02 and the Carphone Warehouse.
The 8GB model will be on sale for £99 on a new £30 monthly contract or an existing £35 contract – if you choose the higher tariffs of £45 and £75 a month then you will get the 8GB iPhone free. Prices are quite a bit steeper for the 16GB version with the phone costing £159 on the £30 and £35 tariffs, £59 for the £45 tariff and free on the £75 tariff.
Users will continue to receive unlimited data whatever their tariff although they could find that they will be liable for O2’s excessive use policy. On the upside however you will be able to browse over O2’s HSDPA network and unlimited access to 9,500 Wi-Fi hotspots through BT Openzone and the Cloud.
Although the addition of 3G and GPS make the iPhone 2.0 attractive it is still without some of the basic features found on much cheaper phones, including multimedia messaging and voice messaging.
The first iPhone was available unlocked soon after its launch but this time it will only be available in store rather than through iTunes. So what of the grey market for iPhones and those that are eager to buy one for the discounted contract price in the hope they can get it unlocked?
Well they might be put off even faster than before. Apple have done their best to ensure that their second generation phone is locked right down. With official applications being controlled tightly by Apple, any non-legitimate contract phone will easily be spotted – or more importantly won’t benefit from the full features.

Then in new years the dev team came out with the soft Yellow Sn0w unlock the … witch at the end everyone had to update there iPhone 3g to the 2.2 with the Modem firmware 02.28.00 to every make the soft unlock work.
2)2.2 -2.2.1 Not long ago apple came out with the 2.2.1 iPhone 3g update with the Modem firmware 02.30.03 , Now history repeats its self. If you didn’t read all the warning online then you made the update to 2.2.1 with 02.30.03 firmware witch cants be unlocked with a soft unlock but only with a turbo sim.
Now on top of that you may say, “David what happens when i update my iPhone 3g to 2.3 or v 2.2.2 ?” Well get a programmable turbo sim for your iphone 2.2.1 update then when a new update comes out for your iphone then all you have to do is pop the turbo sim in the USB programmer and wala your turbo sim is ready for the iphone 3g 2.3 update : )
